Leadership Coaching

What it is:

I coach individuals in leadership positions–either formal or informal– with a focus on identifying and understanding dynamics and systems of power and oppression.  Together, we identify spaces and opportunities for addressing and mitigating those dynamics in service of creating trauma-informed and anti-oppressive cultures.  It’s important to note that coaching is NOT counseling, nor is it intended to replace counseling.

Things you might find me say, ask, offer, invite:

  • What are the power dynamics acting on that?

  • What are the group or organizational dynamics at play?

  • What is your role in that dynamic?

  • What are the societal and community structures that are influencing this?

  • Where might this be coming from?

  • Who might be most impacted by this?

  • What is happening in your system as we explore this?

  • What might you do with this?

  • Have we given that enough care and attention or is there anything more?

  • What is available or present today?

  • Have we talked about…?

  • I wonder what might happen if…?

  • What might it be like if…?

  • What are you noticing?

  • Where does that come from?

  • What’s informing that?

  • Is there anything in particular that you want to take from today’s session with you?
